Hokuriku Coca-Cola

This project is a renovation project for Hokuriku Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd. in Takaoka, Toyama, transforming it into a new workspace. Hokuriku Coca-Cola’s operations are deeply rooted in the rich natural environment of Toyama producing beverages like ILOHAS from the waters of the Shō River and engaging in reforestation efforts in the mountains of Toga. I interpreted their initiatives not merely as manufacturing activities, but as a form of “circulatory design” that connects water, forests, and people for the future. As the concept of the project is "Forest and Water of Toyama", we used wood from the ceder forests replanted by the company and aluminum for ceiling, reflecting the shimmering presence of water above. The company’s signature red is expressed through copper plates and natural lacquer by Takaoka’s traditional artisans, creating a site-specific space. We designed the space to be a place where the activities of nature and humans intersect, where many employees can work comfortably and refresh themselves. 富山県高岡市の北陸コカ・コーラボトリングさんの本社にある旧食堂を新たなワークスペースにリノベーションしたプロジェクトです。 庄川の水から「いろはす」などの飲料をつくられていたり、利賀の山で植林をされていたりと、富山の豊かな自然と共に企業活動をされている北陸コカ・コーラボトリングさんの取り組みは、単なる製造ではなく、水と森と人間の関係性を未来につなげる「循環の構築」であると解釈しました。「森と水ととやま」をテーマにその思想を空間に置き換え、実際に植林された山の木を使い抽象的なスギの森を表現し、天井にはアルミを張り巡らせて水のきらめきを映し出しました。コカ・コーラの企業カラーである赤は、高岡の伝統工芸の銅板と漆で表現し、ここにしかない場の創出に繋げました。 自然の営みと人間の営みが交差する場所で、多くの社員さんにとって快適に働ける場所、リフレッシュできる場所になるようにデザインしました。
