Hokuriku Coca-Cola

This project is a renovation project for Hokuriku Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd. in Takaoka, Toyama, transforming it into a new workspace. Hokuriku Coca-Cola’s operations are deeply rooted in the rich natural environment of Toyama producing beverages like ILOHAS from the waters of the Shō River and engaging in reforestation efforts in the mountains of Toga. I interpreted their initiatives not merely as manufacturing activities, but as a form of “circulatory design” that connects water, forests, and people for the future. As the concept of the project is "Forest and Water of Toyama", we used wood from the ceder forests replanted by the company and aluminum for ceiling, reflecting the shimmering presence of water above. The company’s signature red is expressed through copper plates and natural lacquer by Takaoka’s traditional artisans, creating a site-specific space. We designed the space to be a place where the activities of nature and humans intersect, where many employees can work comfortably and refresh themselves.
