WOODOKAN

It’s the project which I won first prize in the international competition for the pavilion to naptake in Xi'an, China. In Japanese anime ”Doraemon”, Nobita always sleeps in the clay pipe, so I was inspired from that scene for this design. The clay pipe connects to the outside environment while being surrounded, I thought of an open and comfortable sleepy space. The wooden material is used inside the clay pipe, and you can take a nap in a nice-feeling space. In addition, it is a small space that goes to the back, so the architecture has coexisting space with a large public space and a personal space.
