This project is a renovation of the existing office and factory of Saneikenkou Co., Ltd., located in Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, into a unified company headquarters. The plan was conceived to connect the previously separate office and factory spaces, as well as the movement of in-house staff, craftsmen, and clients, into a single cohesive flow. At the heart of the building runs a straight promenade, defined by a wooden ceiling and rhythmic lighting, creating a central axis that links people to people, and architecture to architecture. At the entrance, a sculptural installation composed of timber columns stands like a mountain. Each column features traditional Japanese joinery and carpentry cuts, handcrafted by the company’s own skilled craftsmen. The accumulation of these individual techniques gives form to the very identity of the company. The company’s signature colors—yellow and indigo—are deployed throughout the space, harmonizing with materials such as wood, black surfaces, and greenery. The result is not merely a place to work, but a space that embodies the company’s spirit of craftsmanship: Takumi no Waza.

富山県砺波市のサンエー建工株式会社の既存事務所と工場を一つの社屋にリノベーションしたプロジェクトです。 これまで分かれていた事務所と工場、そして内勤スタッフや職人、お客様の動線をひとつにつなぐ場として計画されました。中心に設けた一直線のプロムナードは、木の天井と光のリズムを伴って空間を貫き、人と人、建築と建築を結ぶ軸線となっています。 エントランスには、継手や仕口の加工が施された木の柱を山のように構成したオブジェを設置しました。ひとつひとつの加工は自社の職人さんが自ら施した技の痕跡であり、それらが積み重なって企業そのものの「かたち」となっています。 企業カラーである黄と藍を空間の要所に配し、木、黒、緑といった素材と共存させ、単なる働く場ではなく、「匠の技」という企業精神を表象する空間を目指しました。
