Shrine of Triskele
This land art work was created in Toga Village, Toyama Prefecture. The site is enclosed by trees, with a clearing open to the sky at its center. From this place, I conceived a space that rises powerfully from the earth, becoming one with the land. At the heart of the composition is the geometric form of the "Triskele" — a symbol of center, force, and cyclical movement. Three vertices reach toward the sky, carving a small opening to the heavens above. The exterior takes its form from the pit dwellings of Japan's Jomon period, designed to become one with the earth itself. This is a place to listen to the sounds of nature, to look up at the sky, and to offer quiet prayer within the landscape.
