Since 2021, I have collaborated with momentum factory Orii across a wide range of fields, including product design, exhibition design, and architectural spaces. One of our representative works is Embrace, a lighting fixture that enfolds light as if different colors were embracing one another. Copper plates, each treated in a different color, overlap to form a single shape. The beautiful colors produced from the metal layer like petals, revealing different expressions depending on the viewing angle. Rooted in my experience of living in Paris, a true melting pot of cultures and ethnicities, the work expresses the beauty of people with different skin colors embracing one another and living together as fellow human beings. Though made of the same copper, the different colors appear to hold each other in an embrace. Its abstract form evokes warmth and hope, suggesting a way of life sustained through mutual support and coexistence.

2021年から、プロダクトデザイン、展示会の空間デザイン、建築空間など、さまざまな領域でmomentum factory Oriiさんとの協働を重ねてきました。代表作の一つが、異なる色が互いを抱き合うように光を包み込む照明器具「Embrace」です。異なる色に着色された銅板が重なり合い、一つのかたちを成し、金属から生まれた豊かな色彩は花びらのように重なって、見る方向によって異なる表情を見せます。人種のるつぼであるパリでの生活経験を背景に、肌の色が違っても同じ人間として抱き合い、ともに生きることの尊さを、同じ銅板でありながら異なる色が抱擁し合う姿として表現しました。抽象化されたそのかたちは、他者と支え合って生きるあたたかさと希望を象徴しています。
